In the Gospel of John Chapter 15, Jesus teaches faithfulness that produces fruitfulness.  He uses the analogy of the vine, or the tree, and the branches.  We know that He is the tree in this story because He says, “I am the vine (tree) and you are the branches.”  He continues to teach that the faithful abide in the vine / tree / Him and are fruitful branches proven to be His disciples (verse 8).

As we keep His teachings and commandments, HE is filled with JOY, and then WE are filled with HIS joy!  We love one another and we are his friends.  He regards us as such and calls us His friends in verse 14.

A faithful, fruit bearing branch on His tree is a very good friend of Jesus, so we chose to name our capital fund raising campaign “Tree of Life”.  This one million dollar campaign for WSBC is to glorify Jesus and bring him joy.

Jesus concludes that as faithful branches on the vine / tree, we get these results.  “whatever you ask of the Father in my name, He will give to you” (verse 16).

So, beloved, let us love one another.

The Tree of Life

In May of 2002, CCC launched a fundraising campaign to raise one million dollars over a four year period May 2002 – May 2006.  The goals and objectives of this four year plan were:

  •             Acquire full accreditation

  •             Obtain approval by Department of Education to offer Federal Student Aid and Pell Grants

  •             Improve facilities through new construction and remodeling

  •             Purchase new office equipment

  •             Purchase better vehicle for school

  •             Build new Chapel

Faithful supporters of the college were asked to commit to the Tree an amount from $20 to $50 per month for 48 months.  The Trustees committed $3000 each per year for the duration of the campaign.  With these donations, supporters receive their names engraved on:

Bronze Leaf for $20 / month

Silver Leaf for $25 / month

Gold Leaf for $50 / month

These leaves will be placed on a beautiful 1’ x 2’ Walnut Tree, and the tree will be placed on a wall of our main campus offices.

Thus far, donations received have:

  • Finished construction on our married student apartments,

  • Remodeled existing apartments

  • Paved Aloa Harris Drive.

  • Purchased much needed lawn care equipment

  • Secured approval for Federal Student Aid and Pell Grants

  • Our accreditation was completed in February 2006.

We have several more projects to finish, as the funds are available:

  • Replace the school van

  • Purchase updated office equipment

  • Build a new chapel

It is our privilege to train men and women for the ministry.   Thank you for your vote of confidence for CCC by supporting us with your financial donation.  That is the highest compliment we can receive.  May the Lord richly bless you and keep you; make His face shine upon you.

Thank You For Your Gift!
